AXMR ("we", "us", "our") operates the AXMR web application at www.axmr.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our service.
By using AXMR, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Data We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address — used for authentication and account recovery
- Display name — shown within the app
- Profile photo URL — if you sign in via Google OAuth
Listening & Preference Data
As you use AXMR, we collect:
- Tingle ratings — your ratings for individual audio tracks (rating value, play count, total listen time, last played date)
- Listening sessions — start time, end time, duration, tracks played, and mode used (Relax, Discover, Sleep)
- Saved mixes — your Sleep Mode mixer configurations (track selections and volume levels)
- Preferences — your selected use case (sleep, relax, or focus), preferred audio triggers, visual preferences, and content to avoid
- Streak data — active listening days and streak count for habit tracking
Technical Data
We automatically collect:
- Device and browser information — via standard HTTP headers when you access the service
- Service worker cache data — stored locally on your device for offline functionality
How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to:
- Personalise your experience — build your Relax Mode queue, recommend tracks in Discover Mode, and remember your Sleep Mode mixes
- Track your habits — display listening streaks, session history, and statistics on your Dashboard
- Manage your subscription — process payments, manage billing, and handle free trial eligibility
- Maintain and improve the service — understand usage patterns and fix issues
- Communicate with you — send account-related emails (password resets, email verification)
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Data Retention
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Listening sessions and ratings are retained for as long as your account exists.
- Subscription data is managed by Stripe and subject to Stripe's data retention policies.
When you delete your account (available in Settings), we delete your user profile and all associated data (ratings, sessions, mixes, and preferences) from our database.
Cookies and Local Storage
AXMR uses minimal browser storage:
- Firebase authentication tokens — stored in browser local storage/IndexedDB to keep you signed in
- Service worker cache — cached app assets and audio files for offline playback (managed by Workbox)
We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.
Children's Privacy
AXMR is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights
Under applicable data protection law (including UK GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access your personal data — your data is visible within the app (ratings, sessions, preferences)
- Delete your account and all associated data — available in Settings
- Rectify inaccurate data — you can update your display name and preferences in Settings
- Data portability — contact us to request an export of your data
- Object to processing — contact us if you wish to object to how we use your data
- Withdraw consent — you can stop using the service at any time
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures provided by Firebase and Google Cloud Platform to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Access to user data is restricted by Firestore security rules that ensure users can only access their own data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of AXMR after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
